Texas Kindergartner’s Rare Baseball Card Find Goes Viral

It’s not every day that a kindergartner steals the spotlight in the baseball card world, but Champ Stutts from Texas managed just that when he made a remarkable discovery. With a collection already boasting over a thousand cards, this young enthusiast stumbled upon a “one of one” Paul Skenes Onyx card—a find so extraordinary that it caused a stir even among seasoned collectors.

In a stroke of luck on a regular Monday, Champ opened a pack of cards and unearthed the ultra-rare Paul Skenes card. His sheer joy, captured on camera by his mother Kristi and posted on their family TikTok account, “Stutts Family Fun,” swiftly went viral.

Within hours, the video grabbed the attention of LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who happens to be Paul Skenes’ girlfriend. Dunne not only left a comment on the TikTok post but also shared the video with Skenes himself.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Pittsburgh Pirates also hopped on the excitement train. They got in touch with the Stutts family and pledged to send Champ a Paul Skenes jersey, sealing this unforgettable moment for the young fan.

Baseball card collecting is clearly a passion in the Stutts family, with Champ’s interest being a natural extension. His dad, who initiated the hunt for a Skenes Topps Chrome rookie patch card last November, has passed down the hobby. Now, Champ’s infectious enthusiasm is rubbing off on his two-year-old brother, who insists on snuggling with cards every single night.

Being the responsible big brother that he is, Champ has his limits. “Bro, don’t bend it,” he firmly warns his sibling, making certain that the more valuable cards remain in pristine condition.

It seems that this captivating find has also caught the attention of Rangers fans. The Stutts family expressed their early morning excitement for school, thanks to the heart-warming responses from Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes, relishing the newfound team to support.

Champ’s tale serves as a delightful reminder of the joy and excitement that collecting baseball cards can bring, regardless of age or experience. In a world filled with digital distractions, stumbling upon a physical piece of treasure like the rare Paul Skenes card has sparked genuine happiness and connected this young fan with a community far beyond his years. With the support of professional players and teams, Champ’s love for collecting is bound to grow, shaping his passion for years to come.
