SCP’s Spring Premier Auction Showcases Rare Sports Memorabilia

SCP Auctions’ Spring Premier catalog is sparking excitement among sports memorabilia enthusiasts with a star-studded lineup of rare collectibles. Headlining the auction is the only known George Mikan Minneapolis Lakers warm-up suit, autographed by the basketball icon himself. This historic piece, comprising a jacket and pants signed by Mikan, is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Sports Investors Authentication, setting the stage for a potential bidding war reaching over $400,000.

As a pivotal figure in basketball’s evolution, George Mikan’s game-worn items are highly sought after, making this warm-up suit a standout item for serious collectors. The auction also showcases a selection of high-grade vintage baseball cards, including a prized PSA 7 Mickey Mantle 1951 Bowman rookie card, as well as two 1952 Topps Mantles, a 1963 Topps Mantle graded SGC 9, and a rare 1933 Goudey #92 Lou Gehrig card also graded SGC 9, with the Gehrig card projected to surpass $150,000 in value.

For fans of Pete Rose memorabilia, the auction offers the second-ranked master set of his cards, following SCP’s previous sale of the top-ranked set last autumn. Additionally, collectors can dive into a range of notable Shohei Ohtani cards and memorabilia, including his jersey worn on Jackie Robinson Day in 2023, anticipated to attract significant six-figure bids, alongside Ohtani’s milestone 200th career home run ball.

Among the other standout pieces up for grabs are two pairs of game-worn Michael Jordan shoes, a Roberto Clemente cap, a Ronald Acuna Jr. jersey with photographic matching, and a signed Tua Tagovailoa jersey from 2023. The auction also features exquisite jewelry items such as the 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP award, Olympic gold medals awarded to Jim Hines and Oleksandr Abramenko, a 2003 Florida Marlins World Series ring, and a 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA championship ring.

Noteworthy lots also include Kobe Bryant’s game-worn and signed shoes, a 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP trophy, a Ted Williams game-used bat, a 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Tom Brady Orange Refractor autograph, a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card, multi-signed baseballs featuring early Hall of Fame inductees and Yankee legends, as well as historical sports memorabilia dating back to the early 20th century.

This extensive auction catalog boasts over 400 lots and will commence on Wednesday, running through to Saturday, April 13, with bidding open to all enthusiasts at SCPAuctions.com. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a piece of sports history and indulge in the thrill of competitive bidding for these iconic collectibles.
