From iconic baseball card sets to unique vintage memorabilia, this auction is a treasure trove of historical significance and unparalleled rarity.

Commencing on Thursday, this auction extravaganza spans an impressive ten days, offering a diverse selection that appeals to both seasoned collectors and newcomers to the hobby. Among the standout lots are remarkable finds such as the coveted T206 White Border Ty Cobb Bat Off Shoulder card dating back to 1909-1911, boasting a rare Uzit back, as well as a Ty Cobb rookie card from the revered 1907 Wolverine News Postcard series, showcasing the evolution of baseball collectibles over the decades.

Enthusiasts can also indulge in a trip down memory lane with vintage baseball sets like the complete 1957 Topps set and the near-complete 1958 Topps set, alongside a collection of high-grade cards from the 1950s Bowman and Topps series, featuring rookie cards of baseball legends like Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, and Sandy Koufax. The auction further entices bidders with a complete set break of the iconic 1951 Bowman set, adding a layer of nostalgia and historical charm.

In addition to the impressive array of baseball cards, the auction includes a curated selection of memorabilia pieces that encapsulate the spirit of sports history. Notable items up for grabs include a ticket stub from the 1957 NFL Championship Game, offering a tangible connection to a pivotal moment in football history, as well as a 1920 Real Photo Postcard featuring the Harvard football team that graced the renowned Rose Bowl, serving as a snapshot of collegiate athletics from a bygone era.

REA President, Brian Dwyer, expressed his enthusiasm for the auction’s lineup, underscoring the exceptional quality of the lots following the success of their recent $15.4 million spring sale. Dwyer emphasized the significant collector interest in the auction items, citing their premium nature and historical relevance as key factors driving excitement among participants.

For avid bidders and sports memorabilia aficionados eager to add rare pieces to their collections, the REA May Encore auction presents a unique opportunity to acquire prized items with a starting bid of just $10.
